I have to share my excitement with you,my  friends on Millineryshop.net  frum diva blog.   I recently went shopping for new fabric. It was time to add some new prints to the site. I just love picking and choosing fabric. A lot of planning goes into which fabric to get. Print, color, texture, quality, washing care, etc.   I found a fantastic cotton print available in two colors pink and grey.   It is cotton which is great by itself but also because it has a shiny sheen (non-slip) with the in style look of slub woven into the thread weave of the fabric. SLIP BANDS - WOW! What loaded words . At MillineryShop.net we have sold over 200 slip bands in two days with one of these daily Groupon style deals. We have had so many questions comparing one slip band verses the cotton version of the slip band - it's not that one band style is better then the other!!!!    It is different based on ones needs. For some women who are sensitive to different fabrics and they can only tolerate cotton on their skin, or perhaps a women who lives is California and its quite hot in climate- they would appreciate a cooler version made with a cotton side to be worn on their heads. The  summer version of the slip not is then a cooler version - simply because it's only 1/2 velvet as apposed to a two sided velvet band.   Another great feature is that we are able to offer this in THREE popular colors: Black, Chocolate Brown, and Champaign. We've designed the bandana with open ties so that when you place the bandana on your head, you can get all your long or short hair easily into place in the bandana. To all our new and devoted customers- I would like to go over and  explain some of our products in the section called "hats and head coverings"   We will be understanding what the differences is -between the Tichel kerchief and Oversized pretieds. These two categories can be found in the shop by department - hats and head coverings  Tichel - Kerchief   What is a Tichel? Sometimes called a Kerchief as well.    A Tichel is a square scarf that  we  fold and make into a head scaf. I would say that your Bubby -most likely wore this style head covering in Europe, in the Shtetl. All married Jewish ladies covered their hair out of modesty and a sign that she is married. Fabric and texture have come a long way  in the Tichel world. We no longer tie the kerchief under our chin in the front. The Tichel is pretied with our soft elastic in the back. We offer sizes on the elastic so there is no need to tie. Another novelty is the Strip grip that is built into the front inner side to help keep your head wear from sliding around   Oversized pretieds   Now lets talk about the Oversized pretieds. This section  is different because its not a square scarf that we work with. We buy fabric on a roll and we cut the fabric into  headwear. The end results is pretty similar to the Tichel kerchief.  This too has a built in elastic for a pretied look. Some woman like the fabric feel and texture  better then a Tichel or vis versa. The strip grip  in also built into the Oversized pretieds     Both itmes - Tichel kerchief and the oversized pretied have options to build in a strip grip -This edge inner keeps your headwear from slipping and sliding.   What is a Strip Grip? A strip grip is a 3/4”-1"  piece of velvet that is sewn into the band of head covering of your choice. It is designed to eliminate the slipping and sliding that usually occurs. That’s why we call it the SLIP GRIP! It is smooth, comfortable and not sweaty. Well let me tell you a well kept secret... MANY ladies in the United States, wear wigs.    For many reasons ladies wear wigs.....  It can be for a bad hair day, color swap, balding, health, religion you name it. The best kept secret is what helps one to wear a wig comfortably. How does one keep a wig in place? Well, we can help fill in the blanks.    Our item called the WIG GRIP have really caught on. Another secret we are sharing with you.   Our HEAD LINER Cap is special because ...... Its a wig grip built onto a cotton cap with an adjustable velcro. If you can't stand the feel of the wig directly on you head BINGO .. you will like this. It will fit most heads and you also have a few colors to choose from.   The HEAD LINER CAP: How to wear the head liner.... IF you have long hair then put your hair in a pony holder. Open the velcro in the back and slid the head liner cap onto your head. The wig grip band should be placed on your hair line. Close the velcro ends to your comfort. The HEAD LINER cap will stay in place all day. Some ladies have told us that they will sleep in it as well. The top of the cap is a soft comfortable cotton fabric.
